Plugin for OBS Studio
VideoCensor hears your stream 2.5 seconds before your viewers do and beeps ban-worthy words — the ones that get channels banned on Twitch, YouTube, VK Video and Kick. Swearing is optional.
macOS 11 or later, OBS 30 or later, Apple silicon and Intel
1 hour a month — free
Download the macOS installer and run it while OBS is closed.
In OBS, right-click your mic in the Audio Mixer, open Filters, click + and choose VideoCensor — live censoring.
Click Sign in with browser and confirm on videocensor.ru — no password goes into OBS. Censoring starts by itself with your stream, recording or virtual camera.
The filter has three levels, each including the one before. The first is on by default.
Words that get channels banned on Twitch, YouTube, VK Video and Kick:
Ban-worthy words and swearing — plus swear words
Everything rude — plus insults and vulgar language
If the connection or recognition drops for longer than the delay, your stream goes quiet for that time instead of letting an unchecked word through. Once the connection is back, censoring resumes by itself within seconds.
Your voice goes on air 2 to 10 seconds late — 2.5 by default. Pick your camera or capture card and its video is delayed the same way, so your lips match your words.
The filter panel shows a status light: green — censoring, yellow — connecting or needs your attention, red — not censoring, grey — not on air.
Censoring starts with your stream, recording or virtual camera. Between streams, no minutes are spent.
Confirm the sign-in on videocensor.ru and OBS is connected. Your account password never goes into OBS.
The plugin works inside OBS, so clean audio goes to any platform — and into your recording too.
After that, hour packs. They’re spent only while you stream, record or run the virtual camera.

If macOS says it can’t verify the developer, that’s expected: the installer isn’t signed with an Apple certificate yet — signing is coming in a later version. Close the warning and open the file past the check.
To remove the plugin, quit OBS and delete the obs-videocensor.plugin folder from ~/Library/Application Support/obs-studio/plugins.
No. Audio from your mic is streamed to speech recognition, and only the recognized words with their timings come back. Neither the audio nor the transcript is stored on our servers. Speech is recognized by a third-party service: it gets the audio only to transcribe it and doesn’t train models on it.
Privacy policy2.5 seconds by default: enough to recognize a word before viewers hear it. You can set 2 to 10 seconds; under 2.5 seconds, misses and brief mutes become more likely. Your camera and capture card lag by the same amount, while game and screen capture stay real-time, so your voice comes slightly after the game picture.
The filter recognizes whole speech instead of matching sounds to a template, so it knows words in their different forms. Misses can happen: most often because of noise or music over the voice, several people talking at once, or slurred speech. A delay of 2.5 seconds or more, a mic close to your mouth and your own words in the filter list make it more reliable.
By default your stream goes quiet for that time. If the connection or recognition drops for longer than the delay, the plugin mutes the audio it couldn’t check, so no unchecked word gets on air. The status light on the filter panel turns red, and the plugin reconnects by itself: once the connection is back, censoring resumes within seconds. If silence on air is worse for you than the risk, choose “Let audio through uncensored” in the filter’s advanced settings: your stream keeps its sound, but words aren’t censored meanwhile.
Under the terms of service, you get a full refund if you cancel before processing starts or if we couldn’t provide the service through our fault. Email support@videocensor.ru from your account address: we review requests within 10 business days and refund the same way you paid.
Terms of servicemacOS only for now — one installer for Apple silicon and Intel. A Windows version is in the works.
You can connect OBS on several computers, but censoring runs in one stream at a time: while it’s on in one place, the other waits.
Installer, mic filter, browser sign-in — and ban-worthy words get beeped before chat hears them.
